The Palestinian Football Association (Arabic: الاتحاد الفلسطيني لكرة القدم‎) is the governing body for football in the Palestinian Authority, and for the Palestine national football team. It was also the original name for what is now the Israel Football Association.

Football gained mass popularity in Palestine during British Mandate of Palestine, and the PFA was formed in 1928 and applied to join FIFA. It was accepted in 1929. Participation in the qualifiers for the 1934 World Cup gave Palestine (or Palestine/Eretz Israel as the team was known), the first Asian team in any stage of the World Cup.

After the establishment of Israel in 1948, the PFA became the Israel Football Association. Both the Israel Football Association and the subsequent reformed PFA count the 5 international matches played by the Palestine/Eretz Israel Football Association between 1934-1940 in its record.

A new Palestine Football Federation was founded in 1952. Its successor, the Palestine Football Association, formed in 1962, has been a member of the Union of Arab Football Associations since it was formed in 1974. It was accepted as a member by FIFA in 1998, after the creation of the Palestinian Authority. The PFA has also been a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) since 2001, in the West Asian Football Federation.

On 11 February 2011, the PFA formed the first women's league.[1]
